How to count days between two dates
Choose a start date and an end date. The calculator instantly shows the total number of days between them, plus the same gap in years, months and days, in weeks, and in working days (Monday to Friday). You can pick dates in the past or the future, and it does not matter which one you enter first.
By default the end date is not counted – from 1 March to 2 March is 1 day. Tick "Include the end date" if you want to count both the first and the last day, for example when counting the days of a holiday or hospital stay (1 March to 2 March then becomes 2 days).
Adding or subtracting days
Use the second calculator to find a date in the future or the past. For example, add 90 days to today to find when a 90-day notice period or visa ends, or subtract 40 weeks to work backwards from a due date. When you add months, the calculator keeps the same day of the month. If that day does not exist – such as 31 February – it uses the last day of that month instead.

How working days are counted
Working days are Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are counted separately as weekend days. Public holidays are not removed, because they differ between states and companies – so subtract any holidays that apply to you. Many offices in India also work on some Saturdays, so adjust the result if that applies to you.
Frequently asked questions
Does the calculator include the start date?
The result counts the days from the start date up to, but not including, the end date. Tick "Include the end date" to count both days.
Are leap years counted correctly?
Yes. The calculator uses real calendar dates, so 29 February in leap years and the different lengths of each month are handled automatically.
Are public holidays removed from working days?
No. Only Saturdays and Sundays are excluded, because holidays vary by state and employer. Subtract your own holidays from the working-day count.
What happens when I add one month to 31 January?
February has no 31st, so the result is the last day of February – 28 February, or 29 February in a leap year.
