How to use the dice roller
- Choose how many dice you need – 1 for Ludo, 2 for Monopoly or most other board games.
- Keep "Normal dice (D6)" for everyday games, or pick a D4, D8, D10, D12 or D20 for role-playing and maths games.
- Press Roll, tap the dice, or press the Space bar. The total and your last 10 rolls are shown below.
A rolled six is highlighted in yellow – handy in Ludo, where you need a six to bring a piece out.
Is an online dice fair?
Yes – often fairer than a real one. Physical dice can be slightly uneven, and people learn to "throw" them in particular ways. This roller uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, so each face of a D6 has exactly a 1 in 6 chance on every roll. Previous rolls have no effect on the next one: after three sixes in a row, the chance of another six is still 1 in 6.
Probabilities with two dice
When you roll two normal dice, there are 36 possible combinations, but the totals are not equally likely. Seven is the most common total because six combinations add up to it.

What is the chance of rolling a six?
With one normal dice, the chance is 1 in 6, or about 16.7%, on every roll.
What do D4, D8 and D20 mean?
The number tells you how many sides the dice has. A D20 gives a number from 1 to 20, and a D4 from 1 to 4.
Can I roll more than 6 dice?
You can roll up to 6 dice at once. For more, roll again and add the totals.
Does the dice roller work offline?
