How to use the random number generator
- Enter the minimum and maximum numbers – both are included. Negative numbers work too.
- Choose how many numbers you want, from 1 to 1,000.
- Tick No repeats for draws where each number can only win once, like raffle tickets or lottery-style picks.
- Press Generate. Use Copy to paste the results anywhere, and see your last results in the history.
The quick buttons set up common ranges in one tap, including "6 from 1–49" for lottery-style draws with no repeats.
Is it truly random?
The generator uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same kind of randomness used for security keys, rather than the simpler random functions many websites use. It also avoids a common mistake called "modulo bias", so every number in your range has exactly the same chance. With "No repeats", numbers are drawn like tickets from a hat: once a number is picked, it can't be picked again in the same draw.
Ideas for using random numbers
- Lucky draws and giveaways: number your entries or raffle tickets and draw winners fairly. For names instead of numbers, use the random name picker.
- Classrooms: pick a roll number to answer the next question, or a random page or question number for revision.
- Games: housie-style number calling, choosing turns, or replacing a lost dice – or use the dice roller.
- Quick decisions: number your options and let chance decide. For two options, a coin toss is quicker.
- Sampling: pick random items from a list for a quality check or a survey.
A note on probability
Each number in a range of 1 to 100 has a 1 in 100 chance on every draw, and past results don't affect future ones. If 7 came up last time, it is exactly as likely to come up again as any other number. Streaks and repeats happen naturally in truly random results – they're not a sign that something is wrong.
Frequently asked questions
Are the minimum and maximum included?
Yes. A range of 1 to 10 can produce any whole number from 1 to 10, including both ends.
How many random numbers can I generate at once?
Up to 1,000 numbers per draw. With "No repeats" on, you can't ask for more numbers than there are in the range.
Can I use this for a lucky draw?
Yes. Number the entries, set the range, tick "No repeats" and generate as many winners as you need. Recording your screen helps show the draw was fair.
Are my numbers saved?
Only the last few results are kept in this page's history while it is open. Nothing is sent to our servers.
